Do you often lose things?

Which do you prefer - towns and cities or the country? 

SPEAKER 1: I prefer the countryside. It’s quiet and peaceful and really beautiful. I love 

going into the woods and looking for animals. If you’re very quiet, you can see a lot! 

SPEAKER 2: Oh, I don’t know. I love big cities but I also love the countryside! I think cities 

are great for indoor activities, like visiting museums or seeing concerts. But the countryside 

is great for outdoor activities, like horse riding and hiking. 

SPEAKER 3: I live in a small town, but I would love to live in the country. Everyone knows 

you and your problems in a small town! 

SPEAKER 4: I prefer the city. I love going there to shop and see concerts. There aren’t a lot 

of shops or concerts in the country. It’s a little boring. 

SPEAKER 5: I prefer the country because you can go for walks and ride your bike in the 

fresh air. The air in the city is dirty and unhealthy. It smells really awful!  

SPEAKER 6: I like living in a city because there is a lot to do. You can go to a different park 

or neighbourhood every day!
