One of the important conditions for building a democratic state in Uzbekistan is the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms and the system of practical guarantees for each person in society. In our country, focused work is underway to ensure human rights and freedoms. A whole system of legislation has been developed, and national institutions for the protection of human rights and freedoms are functioning successfully. The first international legal instrument that Uzbekistan acceded to after gaining independence was the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This reflects the true intention of Uzbekistan to promote, protect and guarantee human rights. To date, the Republic of Uzbekistan has ratified more than 70 international human rights instruments. With the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the basic documents on human rights and freedoms, universally recognized principles of international law are gradually being introduced into the national legal system.
