Analytical exposition vs hortatory exposition

•  Generic Structure of Analytical Exposition

The arrangement of the text is referred to how the opinion of the author can in received by readers, namely:

1.Thesis:Introducing the topic and indicating the 

writer’s position

2. Arguments: Explaining the arguments to support the writer’s position 

3. Reiteration: Restating the writer’s position

• Generic Structure of Hortatory Exposition 1. Thesis ; what important issue to be stated 2. Arguments: what arguments support the stated issue 3. Recommendation; what action should be taken or should not be taken
• Now it is clear that the last paragraph is what make analytical exposition and hortatory text different. Reiteration and recommendation are different to each other.

Spoof vs Anecdote (worksheet 3)

• Similarity of Anecdote and Spoof Text

1. Anecdote and spoof text tell story which indicates a past event so using past tense.

2. Contains jokes or humor that makes laugh the reader or listener.

3. A form of text or a story that happened in the past and re-tell at this point.

4. Many use action verbs like slept, went, stores etc.

5. Both have a complete structure between the text.

• Differences between Anecdote and Spoof Text

1.Anecdote text was telling odd or unusual story, whether it's funny or not.Spoof Text was telling events or funny stories.

2.Anecdote Text has five generic structure :Abstract, Orientation, Crisis and Reaction / Incident, Coda. Spoof Text has three text structure, namely Orientation, Events and Twist.

3. Anecdote ends with problem solving or Coda. Spoof Text ends with Twist.

4. In Anecdote will we encounter words that form the question, like do you know? Or etc.
