Even though product characteristics and benefits are the same, it is critical for businesses to communicate with certain segments. Senior engineers, for example, may respond better to technical information about a product in the form of white papers or infographics, but a project manager may respond better to information on cost savings, efficiency, and other issues in the form of a blog, case study, or video. Distinct segments will have different messaging. Platforms that are used to target various segments will also differ. The idea is to understand your segments and communicate with them on platforms that are relevant to them.
