We have been selected for the accredited university on the last 
15
th
day of 2014 in the assessment of International Education 
Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) in 2014 supervised by the 
Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice.
Through the selection for accredited university, we have been 
evaluated for the establishment of the inducement & manage-
ment system for excellent international students. In addition, 
the accreditation of Gachon University has been specified at 
the official website of the Ministry of Education such as College 
Introduction and Korea International Study Integrated System, 
and the domestic & overseas public confidence has been pro-
cured to disclose Gachon University to foreign governments. 
The examining criteria for visa issuance shall be eased off, and 
we shall enjoy the benefit in the financial support project in 
relation to international students. 
The Korean Language Aptitude Test is the national test which 
result can be utilized for international study and employment 
by measuring and evaluating the ability of Korean language 
use targeting foreigners and overseas Koreans whose mother 
language is not Korean. Since the first implementation in 1997, 
it has passed million accumulated applicants as of January 2013 
and in 2015 , the test is implemented in 20 domestic areas and 
62 foreign countries with 177 areas. The domestic implement-
ing institution for Korean Language Aptitude Test is selected 
through the evaluation of total 20 items such as the accessibil-
ity to the test center by the applicants, the optimal capacity for 
applicants and the capability to support international students, 
etc, and the onsite evaluation.
Currently, we have been operating not only a dormitory but 
also the exclusive department for international student sup-
port, International Center and TOPIC Center. Twelve thousands 
international students have taken TOPIK in our new institution 
in Seoul and Gyeonggi area.
