Integration of forensic toxicology with other subjects:
In order to master the subject of forensic toxicology, students must have sufficient knowledge, skills and qualifications in the following disciplines:
analytical chemistry; organic chemistry; biological chemistry; pharmacognosy; pharmaceutical chemistry; modern methods of drug analysis; pharmacology;
drug analysis.

Basic sections of forensic toxicology and general issues of science, its connection with pharmaceutical sciences. Methods taught in the analysis of toxicological chemistry. Objects.

Theoretical bases of separation of volatile poisons from a biological object by means of water vapor. Extraction of toxins by water vapor. Cyanide acid.

Methods of analysis of toxic substances extracted from a biological object using water vapor. Formaldehyde, acetic acid, acetone.

4.

Methods of analysis of toxic substances extracted from a biological object using water vapor. Phenol, cresols. Aniline, nitrobenzene, toluene.

5.

Alkyl halides (chloroform, chloral hydrate, tetrachloride carbon dichloroethane). Toxicological significance and methods of analysis.

Methyl, ethyl, amyl alcohols and ethylene glycol, their toxicological significance. Methods of chemical analysis. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of alcohols in gas-liquid chromatographic method.

A group of toxic substances that can be isolated by mineralization of a biological object. Activity of metal cations in the body, object mineralization, methods of mineralization denitrification.

Masking of ions that interfere with the fractional determination of mineralization.
Barium, lead containing toxic compounds (tetraethyl lead), their toxicological significance, methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Physicochemical methods for the detection of metals.

Compounds containing arsenic, their toxicological significance. Methods of analysis of arsenic from mineralization. Toxicological significance of mercury and its compounds. Destruction of the object, detection of mercury-containing compounds from the destruction. Gronazan.

Extraction methods. Methods of purification of extracts from foreign substances. Factors influencing the separation of toxic substances from the object. pH-environment, electrolytes, organic solvents, number of extractions, re-extraction.
