The architectural complex Shahimardan baba

Located in the west of the city of Khiva, the gate Shahimardan Dishan Kala in the ancient cemetery Shahimardan baba. There is also a mausoleum of Ilbarskhan, who ruled in Khorezm in 1512 - 1535. Ilbarskhan himself during his reign exalted epithets "Shahimardan", meaning "king of men". In ancient times, the word Hazrat Ali was added to the name Shahimardan nephew of the Prophet Muhammad and his son. At the cemetery there are graves of Iranians who died in 1740 during the invasion of the Shah of Iran Nadirshakh to Khiva. In the second quarter of the nineteenth century at the behest of the Khan of Khiva Allakulikhan at the cemetery of Shahimardan Baba improvement works were conducted, during which there were built small madrasahs, minarets, a mosque and a pond. After the construction of new buildings and restoration of older buildings, there was formed a large architectural complex, the center of which is the mausoleum of Ilbarskhan. In people, it is known as "Shahimardan" baba. At present the territory of the cemetery and the architectural complex is improved. On the architectural monuments that are part of the complex restoration work was carried out.

Summer Palace Chadra-Hauli

One of the summer palaces of Khiva khans Chadra-Hauli is located in the territory of the village of Sayat. Age of construction is uncertain. Local traditions vary construction time between 200-280 and 640 years ago. Its belonging is being studied. Chadra-Hauli is rectangular, cob building, four-storey housing - kyoshk, with the house-tower, an example of the palace park pavilion. On its ground floor are located two rooms of normal height, a barn and a stable with mud stairs to the top. Inputs from the ends are not communicating with each other. The second and third floors - apartment consist of one room with avian. The second floor’s avian is closed on the sides, in front of it on the roof of the first floor an outdoor terrace is formed. On the third floor avian is open on two sides, with the corners is equal to the covered aivan part of the second floor. All the walls of rooms are cut low set rectangular windows. Communication between the second, third and fourth floors are using removable ladders, through hatches in the corner overlaps aivans. On the fourth floor there are two blocked aivans, south-facing and devided into transverse bulkhead.

The house is interesting as a unique type of Khorezm home, facilitating dynamically to the top, with harmonious proportions. The house is built of pakhsa blocks. Cutting is hidden with stucco plaster covering the surface of the walls inside and out.
The only decorative detail of the facade is carved wooden pillars and bolsters aivans of large simple drawing. In places of loss of late stucco plaster on the walls, vertical stripes of fluted surface of pakhsa are visible. Dimensions: plan is 16,5h7,65 m height is 30 m.
"City of Eternal Life is transient, constant river, water roaming " - wrote the poet Maksud Sheikhzade. Yes, indeed, the city of Khiva, which has an ancient history, its people have achieved true happiness, the light of life, and only because of the result of Uzbekistan's independence.
In short, summarizing the abovementioned, our main goal is to treasure it, handed down to us by our fathers and grandfathers ancient monuments, to preserve and protect, to bring them to future generations.
