Malblan in his research only paid his attention to the similarities and differences of French and Russian stylistics.
According to Dolinin, all his studies conducted were aimed at studying literary styles and the individual style of the author and translator. Thus, he argues that comparative stylistics has not yet been built as a branch of linguistics and its issues have not been deeply studied. He claims that comparative stylistics should study and compare how people speak and write in different languages.
Linguist-stylist Yartseva offers to study and compare languages in two directions:
ONOMASIOLOGICAL
Comparison goes from meanings and functions to the linguistic forms expressing them.
SEMASIOLOGICAL
Comparison goes from linguistic forms to their meanings and functions.
Linguists Malblan, Vineya and Darbelne - tertium comparatonis (common features for the two compared objects).

• From sematic point of view, we should analyze stylistic categories:
• Socio-genre: bookishness, professionalism exoticism;
• Emotional and evaluative genre: pejorativity, neutrality;
• Historical stylistics: historism, archaism, neologism.

- From semantic point of view, we should analyze:

• International morphemes: anti-, meta-, hyper-, log-.
• Consonant lexemes: Russian- агрессия, агитатор, стилистика and French- agression, agitateur, stylistique.
• Grammatical forms: word order, hypotaxis and etc.

The author Garbovsky – comparative stylistics should be studied in the onomasiological direction and be based on the commonality of meanings, functions and categories.
