GLOSSARY
1. Ideology - a system of ideas and ideals, especially one that forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy.
2.Renaissance -the revival of European art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th–16th centuries.
3. Soliloquy - an act of speaking one's thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play.
4.Tragicomic- manifesting both tragic and comic aspects.
5.Soul- emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance.
6. Calamity-an event causing great and often sudden damage or distress; a disaster.
7. Protagonist - the leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel, etc.
8.Hamartia - a fatal flaw leading to the downfall of a tragic hero or hero. "There’s supposed to be an action that reveals the protagonist's hamartia"
9.Dichotomy - a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different
10.Lieutenant - rank of officer in the British army, above second lieutenant and below captain.
11. Pivotal figure - A pivotal role, point, or figure in something is one that is very important and affects the success of that thing.
Character is destiny,” is a quote attributed to the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus. This quote implies that destiny, fate, is not a predetermined outside force, but that one's future, or his own inner character determines destiny.
12. Sub-plot - a subordinate plot in a play, novel, or similar work.
13.Climax - the most intense, exciting, or important point of something; the culmination.
14.Tragic death - A tragic event or situation is extremely sad, usually because it involves death or suffering
15.Melancholy- a feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.
