Harmful effects of Fast Food:

  • They are very addictive.
  • High in fat and salt.
  • Loads of calories.
  • The cold drink spoils your teeth.
  • Children become obese by eating fast food
  • Lots of preservatives. This causes harm to the digestive system.

Tips to avoid wastage of food: - Cook required quantity of food - Use fruit and vegetable waste as organic manure - Some parts of vegetables is used in cooking - Some vegetable and fruit peel can be used for aroma therapy and as cleaning agents - Excess food can be distibutred to the needy - Left over food can be used to make a new dish


Vegetables

Help the body fight various diseases. They are tasty and colourful. Green leafy vegetables are rich in iron.Vegetables can be eaten raw or cooked.

Milk is a natural, nutritious and wholesome food. It contains protein, fat and carbohydrates. It has vitamins and minerals as well. Milk contains calcium which makes our teeth and bones strong.

Play in important role in maintaining healthy skin and hair. They also help in maintaining body temperature. We consume fat in the form ghee, butter and oil.

We need water to stay healthy as our body is made up of lots water. Our body loses water in the form of sweat or urine. So we need to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water everyday.

Spices and Herbs

Add flavour to food and maintain good health. Some common examples of spices and herbs used in India are: Mustard(sarson), Cardamom (elaichi), Cumin(jeera), Turmeric( haldi), Coriander leaves(dhania).

Eat a Variety of Foods

Foods contain combinations of nutrients and other helthful substances.

No single food can supply all nutrients in the amounts you need.



Choose these daily grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, meat and beans.
