Excursion service as a pedagogic process


  • Pedagogy plays an important role in guide activities. Pedagogy is the study of the laws of teaching, education and upbringing of the younger generation.

  • Each excursion process gives a person new knowledge about nature, society, historical events, natural phenomena, which is part of the educational process.

  • The guide's communication with the tourists, his recommendations and instructions have an educational effect. The information enriches their minds spiritually and aesthetically. Thus, the excursion service is part of the pedagogical process, educating, shaping the worldview.

    The process of pedagogical excursion is based on didactic principles, which determine the content, organizational issues and methods of teaching tourists. These include the principles of science, ideology, relevance, structure, simplicity, usefulness, and reliability.

  • Special importance of excursion service is a form of cultural and educational work. As in all pedagogical processes, the excursion service involves two parties: the teacher-guide and the student-guide. The guide provides knowledge on a particular topic, which is accepted by tourists. The interaction of these two parties is the basis of the pedagogical process. In interacting with tourists, the guide uses pedagogical methods.
