SAMPLE 1
The graph shows data on the sales of children’s books sold over a period of 4 years from 2000.
Overall, except for adult fiction books, both children’s and educational books brought increasingly higher profit. The most rapid rise in prices was seen in children’s books.
In 2002, the most lucrative books were adult fiction, with their sales showing 45 million dollars. This was nearly 15 million dollar more than children’s books and 20 dollar than educational ones. The year 2003 marked the point at which the sales of children’s books exceeded that of adult fiction, at $40 million. Educational books, however, remained less popular although the price rose to above $30 million.
Over the 6 years from 2003, the figure for children’s books continued increasing to reach a high of 55 million dollars, a rise of $15. In the meantime, the turnover from adult fiction books fell considerably to $30 before growing to $40 in 2004. The opposite pattern can be seen in the sales of educational books from which the sales were below 30 million dollars between 2003 and 2005, but roughly $33 million in 2006.

SAMPLE 2
The graph shows statistics of the population size, birth and death rate in England and Wales over a period of 3 centuries from 1700.
As can be seen, the total population increased in millions over the years as the birth rate always stood at higher levels than the death rate.
In 1700, just 3 million people were living in England and Wales. There was little difference between the rates of birth and death, with 30 newborn population and about 27 dead population per 1 thousand. This pattern remained so until 1850. The levels of both figures leveled out above 35 in 1750s before falling back to the 1700 statistics. Population size, however, expanded largely by around 8 times over more than a century.
From 1850 onwards, the number of the whole population continued rising to reach a high of 50mln in 2000.A slightly bigger gap was seen between birth and death rates in the late 1850s, around 32 people in every 1000 were born while 27 died. Then by 2000,the rate of birth increased markedly to nearly 35.By contrast, having dropped to 20 in 1950, the death rate maintained so until the end.
