1. Introduction. 
All living things inevitably learned to survive, and only what 
were properly learned survived. Education is “job training. Hunters, farmers, and 
warriors taught the young to hunt, farm, and fight. Children of the ruling class 
received instruction in the arts of war and governance, but this too was intended first 
and foremost as preparation for the roles they would assume later in society.

Western modernity is democratic, free market economy, and discovery of 
individuals. It is characterized by the modern nation-states, standing army and 
compulsory public education. “Since 1750, in the UK, the world domination of 
colonies with the rich coal-based industrial revolution and colonization

” has enabled 
mass production systems for maximum profit and alienated people. Mass production 
of thoughtless consumers was the purpose of compulsory public education in the 
industrial society.” Self-alienation as a secret success formula for a mass production 
industrial and commercial economy (and the class-driven social order which 
complements it) is not as wrong as first impressions make it sound.

Keeping in mind that the West has dominated the world for the past 200 years, 
the purpose of this article is to examine how to prepare for university students 
majoring in business administration (BA) in the digital age competing with AI.
In recent years, the number of students majoring in BA at universities is 
increasing, and the desire to secure a stable job after graduation is incrementing. This 
is because there is an expanding tendency to start a life similar to others in the 
uncertain future with fear that if you do not follow others, you will suffer for 
repaying the expensive tuition fee. 
As AI expected to replace major professions in near future, what can you do to 
provide your own unique value beyond the required skills from big companies, and to 
stand in the position of leading AI? This article aims how to discover the professional 
competencies for BA majors in the digital age. For this purpose, below contents were 
provided.
1) Changes in the role of universities in the digital age 
2) What the BA students learn in higher education
3) Professional competencies observed from personal experience 
4) Proposed models to improve BA students' professional competencies
