The first semester’s homework for the Academic English module was to create drafts and improve 


them based on feedback from our lecturer. I have written three drafts on three distinct topics during the 
last three months. My lecturer gave me feedback on my work. I did not take Academic English module 
as seriously as I should have at the start of the semester. Only when I read my first ever draft of a 
listening summary, which I despised, did I realize how difficult it was. Even though I did not know 
what was wrong with it, I had a gut feeling it was not a decent piece of work. As a result, I was 
exceedingly hesitant to share with anyone, including my lecturer. However, after hearing the criticism, I 
felt remarkably calmer, because I understood exactly what modifications I needed to make in my 
summary at that point. Personally, I found the writing process to be stress-relieving. Nonetheless, the 
most challenging element of writing the draft was locating reputable research. The fact that there was so 
little reliable information on such widely discussed themes was eye-opening. According to my 
particular interests, I chose the initial drafts for the coursework submission. As a result, despite the fact 
that this educational approach was unfamiliar to me, I found it to be both enjoyable and challenging. I 
came to a lot of conclusions about my development after analyzing my performance during the first 
semester of Academic English. To begin with, I am considerably better at identifying the primary 
concept of a text or speech than I was previously. Second, my writing has become more concise, 
although it still has to be improved. Third, I continue to be reliant on the lecturer’s materials and
