Electronic Invoicing (eInvoice)

Description:
This electronic service enables electronic communication and 
conference of invoices. The portal provides access to two types of 
users: the consumers (in order to verify and register invoices issued 
to them and other related features such as income tax deductions) 
and the traders (to send and consult SAFT-PT files, collect and check 
invoices and access services to help their compliance efforts). 
On February 2019, the Decree-Law nr. 28/2019 was enacted 
(Official Portuguese Gazette Nr. 33 
–
I Series) to regulate 
obligations relating to the processing of invoices and other tax 
relevant documents, as well as the obligations for the maintenance 
records and related supporting documents on VAT taxable persons, 
and adjustments are now being made to the current regulatory and 
IT infrastructure, to allow traders to issue directly, through 
electronic means, in B2C situations, an invoice to the buyers, , 
without the need to print the invoice on paper.

Description:
Allows for online filling of VAT returns. 
Since the end of 2018, for eligible VAT taxable persons, several 
fields of the VAT Tax Return are being automatically pre-filled by the 
Portuguese Tax and Customs Administration. This program is 
currently being revised to allow for the pre-filling of additional fields 
and to expand the subset of eligible VAT taxable persons.
