Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan. Uzbekistan's bilateral relations with Kyrgyzstan were established on the basis of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, and continue to develop steadily. This agreement was signed in Tashkent in 1992 during the official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan A. Akayev. In 1993, during the official state visit of the President I. A. The two countries signed a Statement on the development of economic integration in 1994-2000. The document was aimed at coordinating the national programs developed in the two countries, effective use of raw materials and labor, and scientific potential.

In January 1994, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Kyrgyzstan again. As a result of the official visit, an agreement was signed on the free movement of goods, services, investments, labor, and the conduct of mutually agreed credit, settlement, budget, tax, price, customs, and currency policies. In July 2010, extremist forces staged an inter-ethnic massacre in Kyrgyzstan, and in such circumstances, Uzbekistan accepted more than 100,000 refugees on its territory. In 2017, a new page opened in relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. At the invitation of President of Kyrgyzstan A. Atambayev, President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev visited Bishkek, and an Agreement on the state border was signed, which included 85% of the borders. In this regard, border posts that had been closed for 7 years were opened for mutual passage of citizens. In December 2017, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, the newly elected President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan S. Jeenbekov paid an official visit to our country. During the visit, a number of documents on cooperation in the economy, culture and social sphere were adopted.
