TASHKENT STATE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Uzbekistan's mineral resources include petroleumnatural gas, gold, silver, uranium, molybdenum, tungsten, coal, copper, zinc and lead. Uranium, copper and gold are the country's chief minerals. The country has mineral reserves amounting to more than 1800 in number.

With more than 5300 mt Uzbekistan hosts the fourth largest known gold reserves on earth (Safirova, 2014). The Muruntau deposit, exploited by the state-owned Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat (NMMC), is one of the world's largest open-pit gold mines.

4. With what countries has Uzbekistan started joint ventures?

In the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, the National Holding Company "Uzbekneftegaz" and the Consortium of Korean companies on a parity basis was established by joint venture in the form of a limited liability company «Uz-Kor Gas Chemical».

5. Which parts of Uzbekistan’s favourable?

The most important clan interests are probably based around Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, and the Fergana Valley—regions with the greatest population density or economic potential. Tashkent—the city and the capital region—is the richest, best educated, and most industrialized part of the country.

6. Which are unfavourable?

Since independence, the economy of Uzbekistan continues to exist as a Soviet-style command economy with slow transformation to market economy.[15] The progress of governmental economic policy reforms has been cautious, but cumulatively Uzbekistan has shown respectable achievements. Its restrictive trade regime and generally interventionist policies continue to have a negative effect on the economy. Substantial structural reform is needed, particularly in these areas: improving the investment climate for foreign investors, strengthening the banking system, and freeing the agricultural sector from state control. Remaining restrictions on currency conversion capacity and other government measures to control economic activity, including the implementation of severe import restrictions and sporadic closures of Uzbekistan's borders with neighboring Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan have led international lending organizations to suspend or scale back credits.

7. What are advantages of multinational country?
