J&K LG constitutes a committee 

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has 
announced a committee to work out modalities 
for the economic revival of the Union Territory. 

The announcement was made during an 
interaction with the representatives of Kashmir 
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). 

The interaction was organised to get the first-
hand appraisal of the issues and problems of the 
business community.

World Humanitarian Day: 19 August 

World Humanitarian Day is observed on 19 
August every year. 

It was established by the UN General Assembly to 
commemorate the death of Sergio Vieira de Mello 
and 21 of his fellow humanitarians in a bombing 
of the Baghdad headquarters of the UN. 

Sergio was a Brazilian United Nations diplomat 
who worked on several UN humanitarian and 
political
programs for over 34 years.
