The aim of this course paper is to consider the grammatical and lexical structure of a word, to identify and classify morphemes, and to study the morphological partitioning of a word. As well as our main theme is connected with morphological structure, we aimed at investigating the topic through diachronic and synchronic approaches both in the sphere of Lexicology and Grammar.
The following tasks have been put forward to achieve the objectives of the course paper:
- elaboration of theoretical material on the given problem;
- selection and classification of morphemes as the main building material for a unit of language - a word;
- disclosure of the concept and types of word base.
- to describe morphological structure of the English Language;
- to define the morphological typology of the English Language;
- to study the main modes of morphological structure;
- to observe the use of flectional morphemes in English Grammar;
- to review lexical morphemes and their peculiarities.
The main sources of the course paper consist of theoretical and practical books on English grammar and Lexicology by the authors such as: Maksumov A.G. «English Grammar: Theory and Usage», Bernard Comrie «The World's Major Languages» Ginzburg-Lexicology 1979 Кузнецов П.С « Морфологическая классификаия языков». 1954 and others.

Besides that I have collected data from scientific articles and internet sources and linguistic dictionaries by Collins Dictionary, Cambridge Online Dictionary, Macmillan Online Dictionary.

The practical importance of the course paper is that, the practical results and conclusion can be used in seminars on Theoretical Grammar and Lexicology .
The theoretical importance of this course paper is that, the theoretical position can be used in scientific works besides, that they may be used delivering lectures on Theoretical Grammar of the English Language and Lexicology.
